WHAT: 含羞草传媒 and Charlamagne tha God鈥檚 Black Effect Podcast Network today announced Season 5 of 鈥,鈥 the original series focused on highlighting the events in Black history that still influence society today. Hosted by Brian 鈥淏-Daht鈥 McLaughlin, comedian, radio host and creator of "The Freestyle Funny Comedy Show," 鈥溾 is a historical docuseries rooted in black excellence and legacy.
100 years ago, Carter G. Woodson launched Negro History Week as a strategic counterattack against erasure. Season 5 of 鈥溾 will honor that centennial by correcting the record to prove Black folks didn't just survive history, they designed it. Throughout Black History Month, B-Daht will showcase unknown and under-known Black history, including stories of hidden figures like Shirley Ann Jackson, the woman whose research powers today鈥檚 modern communication and FAMU鈥檚 Marching 100, the band that built an infrastructure of Black Excellence that others around the world would replicate. The new season will also spotlight global Black history moments including the Haitian Revolution, which led to the first free Black republic and the story of Yasuke, the African warrior who rose to samurai status in feudal Japan. This progressive podcast series is focused on cultivating connectivity and progression through truth within communities. Season 5 of 鈥溾 will have something for everyone, from history buffs to those who are tuning in for a good laugh.
